A New CAVE for HKU SPACE
In March 2017, in collaboration with the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering of The University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong R&D Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management, the School was successfully granted with The Innovation and Technology Fund to set up a CAVE* at the Island East Campus for learning experience enrichment.
We are pleased to announce that the setup of CAVE was completed in May 2018. Students from Architectural Studies, Interior Design and Retail Marketing subjects have been invited to experience the CAVE for their learning.
Programme Teams are welcome to use this new CAVE in teaching and learning. For inquiries and/or demonstrations, please email us at elearning@hkuspace.hku.hk.
* CAVE stands for “cave automatic virtual environment”. The CAVE system is an immersive and interactive visualisation system, allowing students to experience the developed 3D models virtually. The user wears 3D glasses with an antenna inside the CAVE to see 3D graphic generated by the system.
