AR & VR Workshop for CBF’s Shopper Marketing & Retail Management Course
The development of technology has transformed teaching and learning. HKU SPACE believes that technological advancements such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) can enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes and experiences.
The E-Learning Team has collaborated closely with different programme teams to design and implement workshops on AR and VR innovations for the education and beauty industries and others.
An AR & VR workshop was conducted on Monday, 21 October 2019 for 19 students of marketing. A number of AR and VR applications were demonstrated including those developed in-house by the School as well as other industry-related applications. To demonstrate how these can provide a distinct intuitive learning environment, students were given the chance to experience the applications in person.
A hands-on exercise was arranged to demonstrate how AR and VR can be applied to the beauty industry. Here, each student had the chance to apply full-face makeup to their faces in a virtual environment. Positive feedback and comments were received from the participants.
