Launch of First MOOC Course – Buddhism: Diamond Sutra and World Peace (Chinese version)
We are pleased to announce that our first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course), titled Buddhism: Diamond Sutra and World Peace (Chinese version) will be launched on Study163* on 4 December 2018. This is a six-week FREE online course providing interpretation and analysis of different religious doctrines. Learners will explore and discuss the main theme of the course:
Can the world be peaceful one day with the coexistence of various religions?
The question will be explored from fundamental concepts of The Diamond Sutra and their implications to one’s conduct.
Highlights of the course:
- Dr Cheung Siu Nang Bruce (Xuanjue Acarya) and Mr Woo Pak Hay Edward analyse and discuss how the words in The Diamond Sutra explain the cause of global religious conflicts and how these can be resolved.
- Fr Tsui Kam Yiu Luke (Guest Speaker) analyses the reasons for conflicts among religions.
- Animated videos help learners understand the course content and the underpinned meanings.
